Topic: Onsite Water Management
Water is becoming more scarce in some places and it is causing more runoff problems in others.  This is known as droughts and floods, among other things.  In some places, the issue is drought.  In others, it is runoff.  In yet others, the issues have to do with wastewater discharge.  In some places, all of this applies!  We all know that this is a growing concern. This topic is what this presentation is about, especially about what we can do as ASPE to do something about it in terms of onsite water management:

• How do we define onsite water management?  Why consider it?
• What is greywater recycling, and how do you go about designing a system?  What are the watchouts!??
• What is rainwater collection and use?  How do you design a system?   What are typical applications?

Speaker: Robert A Drew, Founder and CEO of Ecovie Water Management 
Robert Drew is the founder and CEO of Ecovie Water Management which specializes in on-site water management for individual buildings. Founded in 2008, Ecovie focuses primarily on capture and use of rainwater for potable and non-potable purposes and on greywater recycling for non-potable use.

Bob’s passion for nature and water began during his formative years in Wisconsin, where he grew up in the water-abundant great lakes region. Along the way, he joined Kimberly Clark Corporation, where he spent five and a half years as an engineer in a California paper mill. Through his water management efforts, he cut water usage while improving factory production and quality. The water savings generated, of a million gallons a day, is equivalent to the water consumption of a town of 12,500 people.

In his career at Kimberly Clark, where he worked for more than 20 years, Bob held positions in Engineering and Research & Development (R&D) in the USA, Latin America, and Europe, managing large innovation and engineering projects. Bob holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Wisconsin and an MBA from UCLA. He speaks English and Spanish fluently.
